First Call for Papers
The aim of the first issue of JIAL is to publish papers representing current research, developments and experiences in the field of internationalisation and localisation worldwide.
We are particularly interested in papers which are poised for strengthening the links between academia and business.
Example topic areas for inclusion in the first JIAL issue include, but are not necessarily confined to:
Interoperability Translation Quality Assurance Development and compatibility of translation and localisation software with today's internationalisation and localisation's requirements Web internationalisation Translation marketing Cultural adaptation Development, implementation and certification of standards Education, research and best practices in the areas of internationalisation and localisation Interchange between course programmes and industry Authoring Software internationalisation Localisation project management Games localisation Multimedia translation The Open Source paradigm
Important deadlines
Submission of abstracts: 16 March 2009
Notification of acceptance: 30 April 2009
Submission of full papers: 30 June 2009
The first issue is planned to be published on the occasion of the Berkeley Globalization Conference: Language - Society - Technology, which will take place August 3–5, 2009, University of California's Clark Kerr Conference Center, Berkeley, California, USA.
